This track was produced in response to a 2018 "Calling All Musicians!" email I received from a friend, aimed towards a future compilation album: "All songs should be 5 minutes or less and draw some vocal component from the archive of poetry published by the YPO [Young Patriots Organization] in the 1970s under the title Time of the Phoenix.
These poems tell the tale of migration, cross-racial organizing, and neighborhood life in Chicago."

The compilation has not materialized. In preparing this single today, I learned that Patricia C. Schneider passed on August 10, 2020. I'm so grateful for her words, and I hope that you might find some comfort and pleasure in their treatment here.

lyrics

So
Faint
The line
Between your fate and mine,
To
Cross it's
Such a little
Act,
That
If I do not watch it
Constantly,
The trespass
Is
Done
And you
Become
A part of
Me.
